Do I need to buy a uniform?
Your shirt is provided by the club.
Shorts are available for purchase at the club and cost $15.
Socks are available for purchase at the club and cost $25.
You will need to purchase your own boots. We have a BootSwap during our Open Day on 24th Feb and second-hand boots may also be found in various op shops.
When will I get my shirt?
We try to have an official seasoning opening event where each team receives and/or distributes the shirts, otherwise it will be during the last training season before your first game.
When will my team train?
Training times will be decided upon consultation between coaches and parents and then posted on the team list info once decided. Pre-season fitness & training sessions advised via facebook & on our website. We strongly recommend you join the website and then download the Pitchero Club phone app to be able to receive news updates and Club information.
How much does membership cost?
It costs nothing to join the Club, but Player registration fees are as follows, which cover insurance, referees fees and all other fees and charges required to be paid in order to run the Club;
Multiple family members receive a flat $20 discount per person.
You can pay online with credit card during registration, or pay the Club directly into our Westpac account, Surfside Waves BSB033274 / Acct 127106 but PLEASE state clearly the player surname and FFA number.
There are fundraising events in which you may participate in order to reduce the cost of your fees or put towards other team-related uses.
Which age group should my child play in?
Players' registration fees will be based on their age as at 1st January 2019:
.... Example: if Johnny is 7 on Jan 1st, he will play for Under 9s
.................. if Susie is 13 on Jan 1st, she will play for Under 14s
MiniRoos has teams for U7, U9, U11 - boys, girls and mixed (minimum age is 4)
Junior Girls - U12, U14, U16
Junior Boys - U12, U13, U14, U15, U17
Seniors - Div 1 & 2 - aged 18 & over for both men and women
Masters - aged 35 & over for both men and women
All-Abilities - no age limits but numbers will determine how many teams available
.... MiniRoos and Juniors may play up a division subject to approval from all of Registrar, Coach & Parent
.... Players may play down a division subject to approval from the above people AND Football Victoria
When does the season begin and for how long does it run?
Juniors and Seniors: Round 1 is on the weekend 5/6/7 Apr and finals are 22 Sept.
In general, Girls and Women play on Saturdays, and Boys and Men play on Sundays. Shell Rd and other grounds have lights and may host the occasional Friday night game in lieu of Saturday/Sunday.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the youngest teams play first, from 8am through to Seniors at 1pm or 3pm.
MiniRoos play on Sunday mornings, starting on Sunday 28 Apr til Sunday 8 Sept.
Ground locations range from Portarlington to Torquay to Colac to Bannockburn, depending on the team entries in each age division.
